Twelve days to go (13 for fans in India) until the final battle for the Iron Throne begins. Everyone who has revered and loved the fantasy magnum opus that Game of Thrones is (and that’s everyone who’s ever seen the show, be it early birds who caught the first season when it aired in 2011 or those who joined the party late and binged on all seven seasons within a fortnight) is gearing up for the final season with a trip down memory lane in their own way. Think re-watching all the seasons before season 8 premieres, coaxing spouses, best friends and siblings to get on the bandwagon, sourcing GoT inspired memorabilia and revisiting the pages of George RR Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice.

We thought of stirring up the nostalgia just a notch higher with these real Game of Thrones filming locations snapped and screenframed by Germany-based travel blogger, and clearly, a hardcore GoT fan, Andrea David. Based out of Hamburg, Andrea has spent the past three years travelling to different Game of Thrones filming locations, among others, and walked the same alleys in Croatia, Dubrovnik, Northern Ireland Andrea, Malta where Arya Stark, Jon Snow, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei, and Daenerys grew into characters we love, hate, admire and despise.

Scroll through these real Game of Thrones filming locations and relive some of your favourite moments from the show. Our treat!
